James M. Carter & Judith N. Keep United States Federal Courthouse

Arranged across a two acre site located in the heart of downtown San Diego is a landscape that invites civic participation while presenting a face of beauty and serenity. Graceful architecture brings courtrooms filled with natural light and plaza spaces provide ample shaded seating to offer a dignified respite for users during stressful times. The lobby and plaza are further enhanced through the GSA Arts in Architecture program which brought renowned artist, Robert Irwin, into the collaboration with his “Hedge Wedge” installation.
